Gil hibben outstanding member of the knife makers guild, featured in the cutlery hall of fame 1990, is a world renown knife maker/ knife thrower/ marshal arts instructor. This is a 3 piece set of the large black throwers, model gh-0947b, with 3 compartment, snap closure, nylon sheath, displays the hibben logo.
The 8.5â full tang, 420-j2 stainless steel knife has a cord wrapped handle, and is made for professional throwers. Single edge blade has been factory sharpened. (please read my message below about wrapped handles). This is truly a great throwing knife.
Overall length 8.5â blade length 4.25â knief weight 5.4 oz. Âi do not sell junk that will bend or breakâ.
This is a great stick & stay thrower, and throws very nicely by the handle, from 17 feet away from target using a single-spin throw. These knives thorw best if you un-wrap the string from handle. Wrapped handle knives look nice for display, but is a really âstupid ideaâ for throwing.
Throwing knives hit the target with high force. If teh âshock of impactâ doesnât cause the wrapping to come undone, another knife will come in and chop the wrapping off when throwing several knives. The wrapped handle knives will throw best if you take the wrapping off. If you keep the handle wrapped, it wonât stay wrapped for very long if you use the knife for throwing. |
